Graphic Fitment Guide
-
Don’t rush! or you will end up with a poor result, have plenty of time and space to help achieve a great look.
-
Remove as much bodywork as you can from the bike, to ensure you can affix the graphics easily and on a flat surface.
-
Attach in a warm, dry, dust-free environment. Use a hair dryer to help bend the graphics.
- Clean all the areas and ensure they are dry and free from dust and oil.
- Ensure you have clean, grease free hands to avoid smudges and fingerprints.
- Start with an easy part like the Swim Arm / Headlight / Front Fender so when you have finished, you will have a little experience.
- Now you have a little experience with applying, apply the shrouds. (It’s recommended you remove bodywork from the bike before applying.)
- Spray the plastic shroud with light mist of water. Coat entire outside of shroud, Being careful not to use too much of water
- Remove the backing from shroud decal, and as you peel, spray a light mist of water to the adhesive side of the decal.
- Lightly place the graphic on the plastic. Do not push down on graphic until alignment is finalized. Do not try to slide graphic to proper alignment. We use a pressure sensitive adhesive, which allows for peeling and replacing if pressure is not used.
- Once you are happy with the alignment, begin applying pressure to graphic beginning at the center and moving outward to the edges, pressing out fluid and being careful to press out any bubbles. We suggest using the backing paper between the graphic and applicator to avoid "digging in" to the vinyl. Be sure to apply ample pressure especially at the edges. Use the hairdryer at corners, this will help to bend the graphics covered areas. . We also advise re-applying pressure to the graphics after a couple of hours, especially if using an application fluid to ensure complete bonding.
- Once the shoulders are done go to tank.
- Reattach the shoulder plastic to help you line up any lines or designs that continue from the shoulder graphic.
- Use the same method for all other parts and If you encounter bubbles that cannot be rubbed out, take a sewing needle and prick the bubbled vinyl a number of times and reapply pressure. This allows the air to escape and the graphic to contact the plastic
- Allow graphics to sit for 24 hrs and again gently heat the graphics from the hairdryer (DO NOT OVERHEAT) as this helps them to seal.
Plastic Tank Models - Graphic Fitment Guide
- Firstly, don’t rush! Or you will end up with a poor long term result, have plenty of time and space to help achieve a great, long lasting fitment.
- Make sure everything is clean, dust and grease free and dry. If you throw the graphics at a dirty, greasy bike then you can’t expect them to stick, and they’re likely to say goodbye the first ride out! I know, it’s a pain when you just want to apply and ride, but trust me, do it the right way and you’ll thank me in the long run!
- Remove as much bodywork as you can from the bike, to ensure you can affix the graphics easily and on a flat surface.
- Attach in a warm, dry, dust-free environment.
- Use a hair dryer to help bend the graphics around corners and to help seal the graphics for a long durable fitment.
- Drain out all fuel and let the tank air and dry for a day or two.
- Wash the plastic fuel tank inside and out with warm soapy water. Leave the tank filled with warm soapy water for a few days, then drain. Flush with plain water and then allow to dry completely. I know it’s a pain when you just want to ride, but get this right now, and you’ll enjoy the graphics in the long term, trust me! (If you don’t do the above then it’s highly likely the tank graphics will bubble due to the build up of fumes from the fuel in the tank. Plastic tanks will allow fumes to escape and so you need to allow the graphics adhesive to cure before contact with fuel)
- Some people spray or brush several coats of ‘clear-coat’ over the sides of the tank to better seal it and prevent the fumes from escaping. If you do this, make sure the clear coat is petroleum safe, and will not be dissolved by the fumes. If the clear coat is not petroleum safe then it will break down and actually increase the degradation of the graphics and therefore induce bubbling.
- Ensure you have clean, grease free hands to avoid smudges and fingerprints.
- Before Removing decal backing, hold the decals up to your tank/shoulder to get a general idea of how the line-up should look. Spray the plastic tank with light mist of water. Coat entire outside of the tank, Being careful not to use too much of water.
- Lightly place the graphic on the plastic. Do not push down on graphic until alignment is finalised. Do not try to slide the graphic to proper alignment. We use a pressure sensitive adhesive, which allows for peeling and replacing if pressure is not used.

- Use the hairdryer at corners, this will help to bend the graphics. We also advise re-applying pressure to the graphics after a couple of hours, especially if using an application fluid to ensure complete bonding.
- Use the hairdryer especially at the edges to ensure a good bond, although be careful not to overheat the graphics.
- Reattach any shroud plastics to help you line up any lines or designs that continue from the tank graphic.
- Use the same method for all other parts and if you encounter bubbles that cannot be rubbed out, take a sewing needle and prick the bubbled vinyl a number of times and reapply pressure. This allows the air to escape and the graphic to contact the plastic

- Use the hair dryer to gently warm all graphics once fitted, this helps them to seal.
- Then let the graphics cool and cure for 24-48 hours.
- Fill the tank with fuel and go show off your sweet new graphics!
